FPL Team Of The Week - GW16

This week's highest scoring players.

FPL Team Of The Week - GW16

We take a look back at the best performers this week including, David De Gea & Patrick Bamford in our FPL Team of the Week – GW16

Goalkeeper

David De Gea – Manchester United – 10 pts

Spanish number one De Gea makes his overdue debut in TOTW. United beat Wolves 1-0 and De Gea made 5 saves, ensuring plenty of bonus points.

Defenders

Ben Mee – Burnley – 15 pts

Mee scored Burnley’s winner against Sheffield United in their 1-0 victory. He is the 2nd defender in a row to be the top points scorer of the week.

Ezgjan Alioski – Leeds – 12 pts

Leeds were superb in their 5-0 demolition of West Brom. No wonder Big Sam wants a break after that game. Alioski scored a screamer in the game.

Stuart Dallas – Leeds – 12 pts

Eric Bailly – Manchester United – 9 pts

Bailly was steady in United’s 1-0 win. His extra pace allowed United to play more on the front foot.

Federico Fernadez – Newcastle – 9 pts

The fact Fernandez is the 5th defender in the side shows how difficult it was this week. Newcastle were resolute in their hard-earned point against Liverpool.

Midfielders

Harvey Barnes – Leicester City – 8 pts

Barnes scored Leicester’s equaliser with 7 minutes to spare against Crystal Palace to put Leicester 3rd in the league.

Jack Harrison – Leeds – 8 pts

Leeds 5-0 win over West Brom includes some cracking goals including Harrison’s well worked goal that he smashed into the top corner.

Raphinha – Leeds – 8 pts

The 4th player from Bielsa’s side is Brazilian Raphinha. His stunning strike rounded off the scoring in their emphatic destruction of West Brom.

Strikers

Patrick Bamford – Leeds – 8 pts

I can assure you Marcelo Bielsa isn’t picking this team. However, Bamford’s 2 assists earned him a place as Leeds 5th and final entrant in the side.

Olivier Giroud – Chelsea – 8 pts

The Frenchman’s fightback from possibly leaving Chelsea to becoming their most reliable striker has been phenomenal. Giroud netted the opener in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
