FPL Team Of The Week - GW28

This week's highest scoring players.

FPL Team Of The Week - GW28

Who made our FPL Team of the Week – GW28. John Stones once again proving why he should be the first defender’s name on the squad for City & England.

Goalkeeper

Illan Meslier – Leeds – 11 pts

Meslier was impressive in Leeds 0-0 draw with Chelsea. He kept a clean sheet and made multiple saves, earning him plenty of bonus points.

Defenders

John Stones – Manchester City – 14 pts

Another goal for Stones as he continues his impressive resurgence in the City side. He must have done enough to earn a late inclusion into Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros.

Joao Cancelo – Manchester City – 12 pts

The Portuguese full back registered his 3rd assist of the season as City took another step towards the title with a 3-0 win over Fulham.

Lewis Dunk – Brighton – 10 pts

Dunk scored Brighton’s opener in a huge win for Graham Potter’s side against a Southampton team who are flirting with being dragged into the relegation mix.

Trent Alexander-Arnold  – Liverpool – 9 pts

Last year’s must-have player has struggled somewhat this season. Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Wolves might be just what they, and he, need as they grinded out a tough win, something they haven’t been able to do lately.

Midfielders

Luka Milivojevic  – Crystal Palace – 11 pts

I think that’s how you spell it. The Eagles midfielder scored Palace’s winner against a doomed West Brom side.

Martin Odegaard – Arsenal – 10 pts

The young Norwegian playmaker will be thrilled to have scored his first league goal for the club, against rivals Tottenham too. Big win for Arteta over Mourinho.

Leandro Trossard – Brighton – 10 pts

Trossard netted the winner over Saints in a 2-1 victory at St Marys. Brighton have a huge 6 pointer against Newcastle next up, which would be huge for the Seagulls if they could make it back-to-back wins.

Dwight McNeil  – Burnley – 10 pts

Burnley winger McNeil is often overlooked but there is real talent and potential there. He scored a stunning goal to claim all 3 points at Goodison Park. If you haven’t seen his goal yet, watch it now.

Strikers

Kelechi Iheanacho – Leicester – 17 pts

Iheanacho made light work of making Sheffield United’s decision to sack Chris Wilder ridiculous. The Nigerian striker scored his first Premier League hat trick in a 5-0 demolition of the Blades.

Jamie Vardy – Leicester – 13 pts

Our pick this week Vardy wasn’t the one who grabbed the headlines, but he did make 3 assists against Sheffield United to take a place in the TOTW.
