FPL Top 5 Must-Avoid Players

Key players to avoid this season.

FPL Top 5 Must-Avoid Players

It’s now time to take a look at our FPL Top 5 must-avoid players for this season. A couple of surprise names make the list, but for good reason.

Top 5

1 – Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m) – Manchester City

This is no knock on De Bruyne, who is obviously one of the best players in the league. However, with City’s rotation and De Bruyne’s injury issues, Bruno Fernandes is a better option in this price bracket. Bruno scored over 100 more points than KDB last season.

2 – James Rodriguez (£7.0m) – Everton

A bit of a hero to many players in the early stages of last season, James faded later on, as did Everton. The Colombian playmaker clearly doesn’t want to be there and so should be avoided at all costs.

3 – Marcos Alonso (£5.5m) – Chelsea

Alonso remains one of the more expensive defenders, despite being a clear backup to Ben Chilwell. Chelsea has a lot better options at the back than Alonso, who may even leave with clubs in Italy rumoured to be interested.

4 – Hugo Lloris (£5.5m) – Tottenham

No doubting Lloris is a quality keeper, but Spurs are in a bit of disarray at the moment. They have a tough start, facing Man City and Chelsea in their opening 5 games, which will give a clear indication of how Spurs season may go.

5 – Raul Jimenez (£7.5m) – Wolves

I feel bad writing this, but how can Jimenez be the same player after his horrific injury last season? I really want to be wrong, as Jimenez was a top-class player for Wolves before the incident. Also, I can see Wolves having a stinker of a season having lost Nuno and Rui Patricio.
